Job Summary

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join our established and respected team. • Dedicated Inpatient Role – Focus exclusively on general GI inpatient consults and endoscopies with a dedicated procedure room every day.
• Flexible Scheduling – Enjoy a two weeks on / two weeks off model – 26 weeks per year (or alternative scheduling options, including 7 on/7 off, tailored to candidate preferences).
• Subspecialty Support – Access to subspecialists in Advanced Endoscopy (EUS/ERCP), IBD, hepatology, motility and nutrition support.
• Collaborative Team – Partner with GI Fellows to run the GI Inpatient Consult Service.
• Academic Environment – Ample opportunities for teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as engaging in academic and quality-improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate must be an MD/DO, MD/PhD (or equivalent degree), board certified/board eligible in gastroenterology, and possess outstanding communication skills to collaborate with consulting physicians and hospital leadership.
