MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with allergic, immunologic, and respiratory conditions.
- Manages acute and chronic conditions including:
Environmental allergies, food allergies, drug allergies, asthma, Eczema and atopic dermatitis, Urticaria and angioedema, immunodeficiency disorders, allergic rhinitis and sinus disease - Conducts and interpret diagnostic procedures, including skin testing, pulmonary function testing, and laboratory evaluations.
- Develops individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Prescribes and manages pharmacologic therapies and immunotherapy treatments.
- Assesses and manages allergic emergencies, including anaphylaxis.
- Provides education regarding disease processes, triggers, prevention strategies, and treatment plans.
- Counsels patients and families regarding medication use, environmental controls, and allergy management.
- Promotes patient engagement and adherence to care plans.
- Collaborates with primary care providers, pediatricians, pulmonologists, dermatologists, ENT specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinates referrals, consultations, and follow-up care as appropriate.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Supports infection prevention and risk management activities.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments in allergy and immunology practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of allergy, asthma, and immunologic disorders.
- Proficiency in allergy testing and interpretation of diagnostic results.
- Ability to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Skill in clinical decision-making and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
- Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school required.
- Board Certification or board eligible in Allergy and Immunology and medical licensure or eligibility in the State of Nebraska required.

- Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
