Mercy High School, an all‑girls Catholic high school founded by the Sisters of Mercy, is a mission‑driven organization with a diverse student population focused on academic excellence and the inspiration of young girls to become confident Women of Mercy who embody faith, knowledge, and compassionate service.

We are accepting applications for the position of Librarian/Media Specialist for the 2026–27 school year. The librarian works with faculty, staff and students to develop and maintain a collection of books and databases to support a diverse range of informational and personal needs for our community.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Maintain the library’s collection by organizing, shelving, and cataloging books and other materials.
• Promote literacy by creating displays and recommending books and resources to students and staff.
• Assist students in locating and checking out print and digital collections.
• Maintain accurate records regarding usage, materials, and overdue items.
• Foster critical thinking skills with students.
• Remain active, accessible, and informed with existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning.
• Provide an organized and balanced collection of books and technology resources that support the curriculum.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to establish a welcoming environment that encourages active and participatory learning.
• Manage digital tools, equipment and media resources used for instruction and student projects.
• Partner with teachers to integrate literacy and technology into all content areas.
• Excellent communication skills; oral and written.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science
• Valid teaching certificate
