Sign Language Interpreter

Overview

Applications are being accepted for a 6.5 hour per day Sign Language Interpreter position at Bellevue Public Schools. The Sign Language Interpreter works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The Sign Language Interpreter assists students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.

• Interpret for students one-on-one and in classroom settings as needed, and assist the teacher in the classroom.
• Assist in the lunchroom, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building.

• Applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Applicant must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment.
• This position is subject to a veterans preference.

• Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
