Job DescriptionAs a Test Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team of Test Engineers, Performance Testers, and Test Automation Developers, driving the strategy and test execution of platforms and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a passion for testing as an engineering discipline.
You will build relationships with strategic partners, manage projects, drive Performance testing efforts, and manage Test Engineering engagements. You will be a thought-leader, proposing and building investments in automation frameworks and tools to drive improvements across Quality Engineering & Innovation.
This position requires management expertise in systems and performance testing teams, continuous improvement experience, and critical thinking and analytical skills. Hands-on test automation or development experience is preferred.
This position will report to the Director of Quality Engineering & Innovation.
Responsibilities- Manages and develops a team of Test Engineers, delivering automated testing and performance engineering services.
- Performs project planning, scheduling, and management.
- Reviews project-level test strategy and artifacts.
- Analyzes system architecture to identify testing entry points and reduce project risk.
- Manages team tasks, including project tasks, schedules, issue resolution, and escalations.
- Prepares written reports for management regarding project status and progress.
- Initiates improvement activities and training to enhance team effectiveness.
- Performs complex analysis of business and technical requirements, focusing on testability and performance.
- Provides technical vision and communicates project objectives to various audiences.
- Provides detailed status reporting, metrics, and execution dashboards.
- Actively manages testing project risks and communicates mitigation options to stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of four years of programming experience, two years of supervisory experience, and 3+ years of performance testing experience.
- 3 to 5 years of strong management experience with System and Performance Test automation.
- Experience with test case and issue management systems (JIRA, Test Rail, etc.).
- Experience working with and managing test engineering teams.
- Development with python/Java or test automation development in a telecommunications domain is a plus.
- Experience with Splunk, Nagios, Hyperic, nmon, or similar performance management/monitoring tools.
Technical:
Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies. Proficient in multiple programming languages and tools.
Other:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
This is a full-time permanent job. Only GC, GC EAD, and US Citizens are eligible. The job is onsite, with no remote option.
