Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer
Join Jacobs as a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer. Your impact will help solve critical problems for cities, resilient environments, and mission‑critical outcomes. This role is available at any location in the United States, ideally near a Jacobs U.S. office.
Base Pay Range$/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Layout and design of HVAC systems.
- Develop design criteria for HVAC systems, including general comfort heating and cooling, accurate temperature or humidity control, and clean room applications.
- Prepare conceptual and preliminary design documents, including sizing calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements.
- Develop final design documents, including specifications, sequences of operation, duct/piping layout, and final construction documents for chilled water, cooling water, and related systems.
- Coordinate with other disciplines.
- Professional Engineering License.
- At least ten (10) years of experience designing HVAC systems for industrial facilities.
- Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC system design.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Adaptability to work within a fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.
- Software experience in Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
- Experience in designing plumbing/utility systems.
