The Senior Electrical Engineer role in Council Bluffs, IA / Omaha, NE supports construction projects with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and inclusive workplace culture. The position is responsible for progressing mechanical and electrical engineering activities from foundational tasks to complex system-level work. Key duties include developing budgetary M/E estimates, analyzing system options, providing value-engineering recommendations, and defining scopes of work for bidding and subcontractor selection.

The engineer collaborates closely with project teams to support construction sequencing, scheduling, and documentation while reviewing drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure quality and compliance through regular jobsite inspections.

Additionally, the role plays a critical part in commissioning and submittals, gradually leading activities such as shop drawing reviews, functional testing, commissioning plan development, and final documentation delivery to owners. The position also emphasizes mentoring junior staff, improving M/E tools and processes, and building strong internal and external relationships. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, the ability to interpret construction documents, and knowledge of construction management practices.

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering (or related field) is required, with 5+ years of construction or engineering experience preferred. The salary range for this position is $100,000–$130,000 annually
