Position: Fire & Life Safety Specialist (Fire Sprinkler)

Fire & Life Safety Specialist (Fire Sprinkler)

Located in Omaha, NE. Full-time, Regular employee status.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create fire suppression system designs in a BIM model using design information from the Engineer/Architect; produce sketches, details, diagrams, and calculations.

• Generate contract documents from the model and perform other BIM uses specified in the BIM Planning documents.

• Integrate design analysis software data with Revit, where applicable.

• Follow NFPA and industry standards for fire protection systems.

• Work across multiple disciplines from concept through construction, coordinating with engineers, architects, consultants, and project teams.

• Maintain communication with internal and external clients; may require some travel.

• Assist with continual improvement of drafting and production standards.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in fire alarm design; experience in facility design is a plus.
  • NICET certified or Bachelor of Sciences degree.
  • Experience with Autodesk products (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDF creation software (Bluebeam and Adobe).
  • Active participant in employee‑owned culture.

  • Highly motivated, continuously improving, and willing to take on new challenges.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field or high school diploma plus relevant experience.
  • Entry‑level NFPA, ICC certifications or other specialized credentials related to Fire & Life Safety.
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Specialty software experience for designs related to the field of expertise.
  • Committed to active participation in an employee‑owned culture.
