Senior VDC Coordinator

Location: Baton Rouge, LA (on‑site). The role is available to candidates at any United States location; ideally, applicants will be near a Jacobs U.S. office.
Base Pay Range$ / yr – $ / yr
Responsibilities- Design wireless systems in iBwave and EDX.
- Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
- Coordinate with AHJ’s, radio system owners, and carriers.
- Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.
- Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical design leadership for data‑center buildings, including Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi, and tower studies.
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR 2‑way radio, Site Radio, RoIP, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS).
- Proficiency with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent for 5 years.
- Experience helping clients identify wireless communication needs.
- Experience troubleshooting field‑team issues; knowledge of noise floor, SNIR, return loss, and VSWR.
- Ability to optimize networks during design and installation.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, NFPA 1225, IFC §510, FCC Part 20 & 90, FCC OET Bulletin 65, and MOTOTRBO/DMR Tier III.
- Knowledge of IBC and FCC Part 90 applications.
- Familiarity with Navisworks.
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients.
- Excellent project‑management skills.
- Experience responding to RFPs and creating project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
- iBwave Level 2 Certification required.
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems.
- EDX or Motorola design certifications.
- FCC GROL certification.
- NICET design certification.
- Multiple OEM product certifications.
- Electrical or communication engineering degree.
- EIT or PE license.
