Responsibilities- Act as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing.
- Work closely with core Program/Project teams to manage high‑visibility, high‑value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure timely and efficient execution of the portfolio of projects.
- Lead procurement planning during the bidding phase: understand contract specifications, bills of material, source, identify, pre‑qualify vendors, develop comprehensive RFPs, analyze quotes (scope leveling), negotiate and finalize agreements, develop the Procurement Plan, and post‑award manage plan implementation.
- Post‑award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs: transfer bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team, engage with the project team on procurement planning & implementation, capture and communicate market intelligence across projects & programs.
- Incorporate market conditions into procurement plans: pricing trends, lead times and logistical requirements, best value opportunities, alternative product opportunities (material cost/labor savings), evolving contract compliance requirements.
- Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules; travel to project sites, manufacturers, and vendors as needed.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Relevant purchasing experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with OEMs, construction/specialty trade subcontractors, and fabricators.
- Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Microsoft Excel.
