Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Industrial Manufacturing industry, your main responsibility is to design and develop mechanical machines, systems, equipment, tools, and parts. You will be using your expertise to improve existing equipment designs and create new, innovative designs. This role involves working with product development to define and create products that meet customer needs. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products are food safe, efficient, and durable.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer should have an extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, the ability to design equipment, and excellent problem‑solving skills. They should also have experience leading teams and managing projects, and designing machines.
In this role, you will work closely with other departments, such as production and quality assurance, to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest standards. You should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment that challenges you to take on new challenges and opportunities.
Overall, the role requires creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to work with other professionals to create high‑quality precision food processing parts and machines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Mechanical design for machinery, layouts, assemblies, and components, including preparing assembly, DXF’s, weldments, and detailed drawings and part lists.
- Oversee the testing and analysis of prototype equipment, parts and products for the food processing industry to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
- Manage and lead a team of engineers to accomplish project goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other departments such as electrical and software engineering.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and production procedures.
- Participate in the research and development of new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and product performance.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges during the manufacturing process.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and team members.
- Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to continuously develop skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for product safety and performance.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
- 5-7 years’ experience in mechanical design and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in complex modeling and simulation (stress, strain, thermal, etc.).
- Proficiency in the use of Solid Works Mechanical Design Suite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Must be able to work independently or with a team, handle the stress of multiple projects, changing schedules, and short‑suspense tasking.
