Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team, focusing on plant layout and equipment layout. You will be responsible for designing mechanical systems, including life safety, HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, gas, and fire sprinkler systems for capital expansion projects and renovations of existing facilities. Projects may include pet food plants, chemical plants, and food and beverage facilities. Your role will involve process piping design, equipment selection, material lists, contract documents, and drawing reviews for industrial projects using Plant3D and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in‑house mechanical design for capital expansion projects and renovations.
  • Develop plant layout and equipment layout designs.
  • Create preliminary design documents such as conceptual designs, technical specifications, and site plans.
  • Conduct process piping design, equipment selection, and material list creation.
  • Review contract documents and drawings for industrial projects.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an industrial setting, preferably in manufacturing or food and beverage sectors.
  • Proficiency in Plant 3D, AutoCAD 2D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in MEP dust collection conveyor design.
  • Strong mechanical engineering and industrial design skills.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Design and Drafting.
  • Experience in mechanical design, process improvement, systems design, and systems engineering.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Experience in the Food & Beverage, Agricultural, Mineral Processing, and Power Industries.
  • Strong relationships with customers, contractors, fabricators, and vendors.
Work Environment

Our office is situated in the vibrant Regency District of Omaha, offering easy access to major highways and surrounded by shopping and dining options. You will work in a small, close‑knit team of about 15, enjoying a casual dress code and a professional work environment. The position is primarily in‑office, with some site visits required for 3D laser scanning. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
