Are you an experienced Transportation/Civil Project Engineer passionate about impactful roadway design and mentoring the next generation of engineers? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our dedicated team full‑time. You'll play a crucial role in producing detailed design plans and shaping the future of Nebraska's roadways and highways, and have the opportunity to mentor younger engineers.
DescriptionWe are seeking a Full‑Time Project Engineer
. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who can communicate effectively with clients and team members. Additionally, this candidate will:
- Work closely with internal staff on design projects, design plans, and specifications for urban and rural public/private roadways, which may include grading, erosion control, stormwater management, and sanitary sewers.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and design‑related documents with the supervision and guidance of the project manager.
- Work with city, county, and state regulatory or reviewing authorities to identify appropriate design criteria and limitations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree from an EAC/ABET, CEAB‑accredited engineering program, or a program that meets the NCEES Engineering Education Standard
- Six years of progressively responsible experience
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office & Micro Station including Open Roads/GEOPAK software
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling, and presentation of results
- Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer License in the State of Nebraska
- Knowledge of Nebraska Department of Transportation roadway requirements
