Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager/Team Leader (Omaha, NE)
Join E & A Consulting Group, Inc. in our Omaha office as a Full‑Time Assistant Project Manager/Team Leader. We’re looking for a motivated, self‑starter with exceptional communication skills to lead a civil engineering design team.
You will oversee design plans, manage team assignments, mentor junior engineers, and develop key relationships. The role focuses on residential and commercial land development projects.
DescriptionWe seek a Full‑Time Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager in our Omaha office. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who can communicate effectively with team members, public officials, and clients, and will have a proven track record of civil engineering expertise for projects.
- Partner with an experienced Project Manager to lead a civil engineering design team focused on residential and commercial land development projects.
- Oversee the production of design plans and specifications for grading, erosion control, stormwater management, sanitary sewers, water mains, and private roadways.
- Review civil engineering design calculations, drainage reports, and cost estimates.
- Manage the team, including assignments, mentoring, and quality control.
- Aid in team mentoring, day‑to‑day coaching, and performance management.
- Develop relationships with existing developers and local public agencies and contribute to the creation of proposals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related EAC/ABET, CEAB‑accredited engineering program, or a program that meets the NCEES Engineering Education Standard.
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer License.
- Ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or project management software.
- Experience with general civil design of grading, storm, paving and utilities, hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling and presentation of results.
- Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fifteen years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer License in the State of Nebraska.
- Team management experience, including leading, mentoring, and coaching.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Knowledge of the Omaha Regional Design Manual and PERMIX.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Sanitary and Improvement District (S&) financing mechanism, Public Improvement Plan layouts, design, processes and procedures, and subdivision developments and site planning.
