Data Center Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) – Full‑time – Remote/Travel.
This role assists in managing small to large Data Center projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule. The Engineer performs construction observations, reviews contract documents, develops functional test plans, and executes tests for a wide variety of mechanical and controls systems. Responsibilities also include retro‑commissioning engineering/energy studies, contributing to design and energy projects for national industrial, institutional, and commercial clients.
The Engineer will engage in assessment, optimization, and/or commissioning activities for utility plants.
- 2+ years of specific Data Center Commissioning experience (Electrical/Mechanical).
- Must be able/willing to travel up to 75% for project work, training, and inter‑office business (expenses paid).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering field preferred.
- Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
- Experience managing design/energy services commissioning projects to a pre‑determined scope, fee, and schedule.
- Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards such as ASHRAE, LEED.
- Effective leadership and written/verbal communication skills essential.
- EIT, PE, CBCP, CEM, CCP, CxA are a plus.
