An Omaha, Nebraska- based financial institution is seeking an Ag Loan Officer with experience in livestock lending, specifically cattle financing. This is a specialized lending opportunity focused on cow- calf and feeder cattle, with approximately 98% of the portfolio in cattle and the remaining 2% in hogs. The lender will inherit a portfolio based on their experience, with the long-term goal of managing $50 – $60 million in loans.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining customer relationships, evaluating collateral, and performing their own credit analysis. This position does not involve operating lines of credit, crop lending, or agricultural real estate financing. The primary calling area is within approximately two hours of the Missouri River along the Nebraska border, with occasional overnight travel. A company truck is provided. This is an opportunity for a livestock lending professional who understands cattle operations, enjoys working directly with borrowers, and can build and manage a substantial portfolio focused on collateral-based lending.
