The Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field.

Hours:
1.0 / 40 - Schedule: Four (4) 10‑hour variable shifts Mon‑Fri between 6:30 am‑7:00 pm
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program or have previous on‑the‑job training in surgical technology.
- Licensure: N/A
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 90 days of hire.
- Experience: 1+ year of surgical experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Maintains sterile field during surgical procedures through consistent aseptic technique.
- Performs scrub duties accurately, concisely and timely.
- Demonstrates adaptability by performing scrub duties for a variety of orthopedic surgeries.
- Identifies locations and secures supplies/equipment promptly.
- Uses communication skills to achieve desired outcomes and promotes teamwork.
- Promotes team concept by demonstrating commitment and involvement among coworkers and other health‑care team members.
- Follows risk‑management practices to provide a safe environment for patient, coworker and hospital.
- Provides care appropriate to patient age.
- Maintains professional appearance, behavior and work environment.
- Enhances personal and professional development.
- Complies with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
- Employee responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.
This position is classified as Medium Work, requiring exertion of 20‑50 pounds occasionally, 10‑25 pounds frequently, or >10 pounds constantly to move objects; physical demands are in excess of Light Work.
Must be able to pass background check, pre‑employment physical and drug testing; any job offer contingent on completion of these and obtaining active licensure per job requirements.
