Position Summary
Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care by overseeing accurate and efficient processing, recordkeeping, and dispensing of patient prescriptions issued by CDHC providers. In addition to performing traditional pharmacy duties, communicate with CDHC providers to inform and promote the use of the most appropriate pharmacoeconomic treatment that positively influences prescribing practices. Participate in the development of policies and programs that aim to promote good health, educate patients about the importance of being compliant with medication therapy, and work toward improving clinical outcomes.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate processing, billing, and dispensing of prescribed medication.
- Counsel patients on the selection and administration of prescription and OTC medication.
- Supervise the work of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy student interns, and clerks.
- Assure compliance with pharmacy related Federal, State, and corporate regulations and guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management, DUE, and CBA of pharmaceutical treatments.
- Perform daily revenue audits, pharmacy program audits, and monitor KPIs.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with CDHC providers.
- Perform patient profile maintenance and review of pharmaceutical therapy.
- Clarify pharmaceutical therapy and provide, to CDHC providers, recommendations of alternative pharmaceutical therapy supported by evidence based literature.
- Participate in current corporate programs and/or committees that assist in the growth of CDHC Pharmacy Services through the integration with other CDHC service lines (e.g. Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, etc.).
- Participate in the innovation and development of new processes, policies, and procedures directed toward achieving corporate goals of improving clinical outcomes through strengthening collegial and community partnerships.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
BS in Pharmacy, Graduate of an Accredited Pharmacy School or passed the FPGEE. Pharm
D preferred. - Licensure:
Valid Nebraska Pharmacy License held in good standing or be eligible for licensure in Nebraska required. - Experience:
Require knowledge of general retail and clinical pharmacy. Two years of retail and clinical, community health, or ambulatory experience preferred. - Travel:
Minimal in-town traveling. - Possess general knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint. Knowledge of QS1 and Next Gen preferred.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to engage patients, providers, and other staff.
- Ability to work well individually and within a team environment.
- Hours/Days of Operation: 9a - 6p, Monday through Friday only. No weekends or holidays.
