Staff Psychologist – Assessment

Boys Town is a non‑profit organization that seeks to serve children and families in need. This role conducts psychological treatment and assessment services for families and children referred to the Behavioral Health Clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides psychological therapeutic services to clients each week.
  • Meets monthly clinical productivity expectations (e.g., schedule 25–35 client appointments per week).
  • Conducts clinical, cognitive, and psycho‑educational assessments.
  • Provides clinical consultation for children and families referred for services.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a referral base from Boys Town, pediatricians, schools, other treatment providers, and community referrals.
  • Obtains ongoing education related to clinical psychology, behavioral pediatrics, assessment, and intervention (including continuing education, consultation, and professional literature).

Required Qualifications:

  • Independently licensed practitioner (Psychologist, Counselor, Mental Health Practitioner, LMFT, LCSW, etc.).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of clinical concerns for children and adolescents such as disruptive behavior, ADHD, op positional defiant disorder, sleep disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, motor habits, academic problems, and ASDs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of psychological theories, principles, and practices with an emphasis on behavioral pediatrics and cognitive‑behavioral theories.
  • Knowledge of clinical diagnostic criteria and developmental disorders.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for administering, scoring, and interpreting a wide variety of standardized psychological tests and measures.
  • Skill in determining diagnoses, providing therapy, conducting evaluations, and administering standardized tests.
  • Ability to apply psychological principles to therapeutic intervention with individuals, groups, and families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
