Position SummaryCoordinates clinical research for clinical studies in the Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism division of Internal Medicine. Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates clinical research activities. Responsible for maintaining good clinical practice involving the DEM research protocols.
Required Qualifications- Education:
Relevant coursework/specialized training in Nursing. - Experience:
Minimum 2 years nursing experience, including working with complex protocols (e.g., ICU, Special Care Unit) and/or clinical research. - License:
Current Nebraska RN license, or license eligible. - Computer Applications:
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. - Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with other team members.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Knowledge of current nursing procedures, techniques, and practices.
- Ability to perform a physical assessment as appropriate.
- Computer literacy and proficiency.
- Utilization of knowledge and skills related to meeting age‑specific needs of the patient population served:
- Preschool (3–6 years)
- School age (6–12 years)
- Adolescence (12–18 years)
- Adult (18–65 years)
- Geriatric adults (65 years and older)
- Education:
Certified Diabetes Educator (C.D.E.) is optimal; willingness to become a C.D.E. preferred. - Experience:
Familiarity with Diabetes and/or Endocrine studies. - License:
Prefer C.D.E. certification, or willingness to obtain certification. - Computer Applications:
Microsoft Outlook. - Other Computer Applications:
Electronic Medical Records (EMR). - Additional knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Willingness to become a CDE and to work closely with diabetes and diabetes care.
- Past clinical research skills and knowledge preferred.
