Job Description
ABA Therapist
Summary: Responsible for providing intensive, 1:1, behavior intervention services based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Clients include children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other language delays.
Responsibilities
:
- Providing direct 1:1 therapy session
- Implementing all skill acquisition programs & maintenance programs
- Collecting accurate data
- Implementing all behavior protocols & FBA/BIPs as provided
- Completes insurance forms daily
- Completes daily cleaning checklist
- Attends & implements feedback from weekly supervision with POD Managers
- Contacts POD Manager when appropriate with pertinent information for each client
- Attends & maintains all outside training certifications (CPI, CPR, First Aid, etc.)
- Obtain & maintains RBT certification
- Follows all mandated reporter standards
- Works well with team & demonstrates professionalism in workplace
- Demonstrates creativity & “think outside the box” attitude to provide support and achieve positive outcomes for all clients
- Consistently builds rapport with clients & families to achieve best possible outcomes
Physical Requirements
:
- Lifting/Carrying more than 50lbs
- Running
- Able to sustain impact to body (i.e., being hit, etc.) in any area
- Crouching, squatting, kneeling for sustained periods of time
- Bending at the waist to touch knees and/or toes
- Full range of motion of hands and arms
- Sitting on floor and chair for long periods of time
- Ability to move quickly from standing to seated, or kneeling position, without support
- Communicates expressively and receptively both verbally and written
Qualifications
:
- High School Diploma, Associates degree from accredited university or college in Psychology, ABA, Special Education, or related field with applicable experience or a Bachelors degree in Psychology, ABA, Special Education or a related field
- Flexible, creative, & possessing excellent time management skills
- Experience in ABA programs is preferred, but not required
