Position Summary

Oversee nutritional care for MMI patients with IDD and complex health care needs across the lifespan participating in programs including/but not limited to Pediatric Feeding, Genetics, Speech Pathology, Developmental Pediatrics, Caring for Champions Dietary Health & Wellness, and Primary Care. The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) provides nutrition consultation and education for patients with complex medical needs and their families who are screened at nutrition risk, identified with nutrition risk, and/or referred by physicians or other healthcare providers for nutrition-related problems, chronic disease management, management of nutrition support, to meet regulatory requirements, or for prevention and wellness.

Preferred Qualifications Required Education
  • Nutritional Sciences or related field.
  • Completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Supervised Practice Program Approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Required Experience
  • 1 year of experience.
  • Experience working with children and their families.
Required License
  • Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist through the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
Required Computer Applications
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook.
Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to analyze and manage the caloric and nutritional content of the diets of children and adults with IDD.
Preferred Education
  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Nutritional Sciences or related field.
Preferred Experience
  • Documented experience working with behavioral feeding patient population and people with IDD and complex health conditions will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
Preferred License
  • Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP).
Preferred Computer Applications
  • EPIC, specialized nutrition analysis software (e.g., ESHA Food Processor, Nutritionist Pro).
