We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst / IT Liaison to join our team. This role blends technical expertise with strong business acumen to support IT initiatives, managing local office operations, and serve as a key liaison for real estate and infrastructure changes. Key Responsibilities
  • Excel VBA Development:
    Design, develop, and maintain advanced Excel solutions using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to automate processes and improve operational efficiency. (E.G. Excel based Quote programs for new business, Renewal lists for renewal processing)
  • SQL for Oracle:
    Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for Oracle databases to support reporting, data analysis, and system integrations.
  • User Support:
    Provide technical support for desktop computers and software applications.
  • Business Liaison:
    Serve as the Line of Business contact for various Corporate departments.
  • Develop close working relationship with operations and underwriting teams to meet department goals.
  • Responsible for delivering Premium/Loss information to corporate systems daily/monthly.
  • Requirements Documentation:
    Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document clear, comprehensive requirements for IT program changes across both large-scale and small projects.
  • Daily meetings with application developers to set priorities.
  • Create & prioritize application change request items for Developers using Rally.
  • Test application changes and provide production sign-off.
  • Create/Maintain workflow documentation for all applications.
  • Real Estate / Local Office Liaison:
    Act as the primary point of contact for real estate-related changes, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth transitions. Address changes, issues, and operational needs within the local office environment.

Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in office
- Omaha, NE (3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday).

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technology experience in SQL, Oracle and Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
  • Strong demonstrated proficiency in Excel VBA and SQL for Oracle.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing functional and technical requirements for IT projects.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Rally, Agile, Scrum).
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle database table structures.
Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$84,400 - $126,600
