We are seeking a Data Engineer to support an emerging capability for USSTRATCOM J2 at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. The role involves migrating existing ad hoc data flows to JWICS AWS, automating data gathering and cleaning with Python, and developing a data management system for the intelligence enterprise.

Responsibilities include:

Designing, implementing, and operating data management systems for intelligence needs.

Automating data workflows using Python.

Designing algorithms, databases, and pipelines for data access, retrieval, storage, and management.

Collaborating with data users to optimize data architectures and query performance.

Participating in selecting and configuring backend database technologies (SQL, No

SQL).

Advising on data architectures and maintaining data systems.

Researching and presenting on data engineering methodologies.

Aligning data processes with intelligence and analytic requirements.

Preparing data for analytics, machine learning, and visualization.

Building scalable data infrastructure integrating multiple sources using AWS technologies.

Qualifications:

Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
8+ years of software engineering experience.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; relevant science disciplines considered with sufficient coursework in mathematics.
8+ years experience with AWS big data technologies (S3, EC2), data processing, modeling, ETL, and warehousing.
Mid-level knowledge of software engineering best practices and agile methodologies.
3+ years experience with analytical and statistical techniques.
8+ years experience in Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields, especially in software engineering or implementing advanced algorithms.

This position is primarily on-site due to security requirements, with possible limited remote support based on project needs.
