Estate & Business Succession Planning Attorney (3L Students & Recent Graduates Encouraged to Apply)

Koley Jessen offers our clients the region’s largest team of attorneys and paralegals dedicated exclusively to estate planning and administration, business succession planning, charitable planning, and related areas of the law. We are seeking a motivated 3L student or recent law school graduate to join our team.

As a member of our group, you will work closely with experienced attorneys to learn and assist with:

• Advising clients on estate planning, business succession planning, charitable planning, wealth transfer planning, and related matters;
• Drafting estate planning and business succession documents;
• Assisting with estate and trust administration;
• Preparing or helping prepare federal estate and gift tax returns;
• Supporting the establishment of private foundations and other charitable structures.

The ideal applicants will have:

• Coursework in trusts & estates, estate planning, personal income tax, corporate income tax, estate and gift tax, and tax-exempt organizations;
• Demonstrated interest in estate planning, tax, business succession planning, and charitable planning;
• Strong legal research, issue-spotting, problem-solving, and writing skills;
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset;
• Be licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Nebraska.
