Overview
Conductix-Wampfler, a leading global manufacturer in the mobile electrification market, is looking to add a career-minded machinist to their team. We seek someone with a quality-focused and continuous improvement mindset. In this position, you will assist with daily production and scheduling and set up of manual machines. You will work with a variety of materials and components and manage special setups for customer projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measure, mark, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece for subsequent machining.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
- Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings.
- Sit and assemble parts into complete assemblies and verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Experience with building fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning.
- Check accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing inputs to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines; communicate changes to appropriate departments for future output consistency.
- Understand, support, implement, and sustain 5S program initiatives and goals.
- Support and uphold the quality and EHS policy and core values.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or a minimum of four years of job shop related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; or certification of completion of a Certified Apprenticeship Program.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical procedures. Ability to write and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
