General Function
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities to achieve established metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management. The role focuses on developing high-performing teams, driving continuous improvement, delivering results, inspecting performance, and building a best-in-class working environment. Leads production teams to achieve daily goals and objectives.
Major Duties And Responsibilities- Working knowledge of all aspects within the manufacturing area.
- Monitor and evaluate productivity through team and individual metrics.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and coach employees on such initiatives.
- Communicate our unique selling proposition and its benefits to the team, as well as to potential and existing accounts.
- Communicate company policies and procedures to the team.
- Manage and coach employees and ensure timely performance reviews and proper documentation of performance issues.
- Plan vacation schedules with consideration of seasonality workloads.
- Maintain production and machine maintenance records and charting.
- Communicate with offsite vendors to troubleshoot machine errors and breakdowns using remote interfaces.
- Maintain close association with accounts and internal/external stakeholders; address product information and Rx service questions; render decisions on company policies.
- Act as a role model to foster motivation, commitment and teamwork.
- Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.
- Follow all company and manufacturer policies and safety rules; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Assist others to meet deadlines or balance workloads; cooperate with coworkers; maintain quality of work.
- Provide training, direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers. Attend in-house or sponsored supervisory training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to solve problems that may involve multiple departments.
- Competence in all aspects of lab manufacturing.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; DVI software).
- Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to maintain an even workflow and motivate a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
