Graepel pays 100% of the employee’s medical and dental premiums. The company also covers all tuition, books, and pays the apprentice’s hourly rate for days spent attending college.

The Industrial Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship is a triad study program involving Metro Community College, Graepel, and the Industry for Advanced Technical Training (ICATT). Apprentices receive on‑job training in metal fabrication while attending classes at Metro Community College. Upon completion they earn an associate degree and an industrial technician certification.

• Work with a trainer to learn metal‑fabrication processes at all work stations.
• Attend classes at Metro Community College and maintain satisfactory grades throughout the term.
• Maintain a daily log of skills learned so progress can be tracked.
• Complete coursework and lessons as required by ICATT standards.
• Assist with production processes to gain on‑job training.
• Produce a part to demonstrate newly acquired skills.
• Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Acceptance into the college program via placement exam.

• Pass the ACCUPLACER exam or equivalent.
• Work under supervision from a mentor.
• Operate a forklift and obtain on‑job training certification.
• Operate power and hand tools.
• Work effectively in a team environment and/or independently.

• Lift/Carry:
  Stand (F) up to 10 lbs, Walk (F) 11–20 lbs, Sit (O) 21–50 lbs, Handling/Fingering (C) 51–100 lbs, Reach Outward (F) >100 lbs, Reach Above Shoulder (F).
• Push/Pull, Climb (O) 12 lbs or less, Crawl (O) 13–25 lbs, Squat/Kneel (F) 26–40 lbs, Bend (F) 41–100 lbs.
• Other:
  Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception);
  Sense of Sound;
  Sense of Touch;
  Wear PPE (ear protection, steel‑toed boots, etc.).
