You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support daily operations, including donor eligibility, adverse event management, lab test review, and donor notification of unsuitable results.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation procedures, referencing EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate degree from a state‑approved nursing program.
- Current licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for the Bio Life Medical Support Specialist role.
- At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Hourly wage range: $23.85 – $32.79.
