Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM

• Every third weekend requirement with rotating holiday schedule

• 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on 32-bed medical/surgical orthopedic unit

• Care for medical/surgical patients with specialty in post-operative cancer intervention (prostatectomy, mastectomy, etc.)

• Required to titrate drips including heparin, lidocaine, and TPN

• Telemetry monitoring with central monitoring system - RNs responsible for noticing strip changes

• Charge nurse and house supervisor responsibilities included

• Nurse aids available sometimes dependent on sitter needs with 1:15 ratio

• Rare floating requirements only to other medical/surgical units if needed

• Navy scrub color dress code required

• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments

• Unit-specific orientation provided

• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue

• EPIC charting system

• Required certification: BLS (AHA)

• Must demonstrate good communication, accurate documentation, timeliness, and patient-centered care

• Driver's license required at submittal

• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with Common Spirit facilities
