Summary

This individual will coordinate and supervise pre‑operation examination, when applicable. Strong leadership abilities must be able to make decisions on the fly. Resolve problems and issues with products, processes, and employees as they arise. Communicate frequently with USDA inspectors regarding the product, administration regarding quality, employees, safety, etc. Ensure compliance to HACCP plan for all products. Ensure compliance with third‑party customer and BRC standards.

Establish and maintain documentation of shelf‑life requirements, finished product specifications, leaker testing, formulation weights, temperatures, and other necessary standards. Ensure documentation is complete and accurate with high attention to detail, to ensure our compliance with our HACCP program, third‑party customer, and BRC standards.

Essential Functions And

Job Responsibilities
  • Review and verify that all work orders have been completed and no missing information.
  • Review and verify all records associated with singing pre‑shipment.
  • Prepare and print the final USDA reports.
  • Email all deficiencies to upper management.
  • Assist in the review and update process of procedures and generation and implementation of new ones.
  • Monitor for product test results and review for non‑conforming product.
  • Assure compliance to our HACCP procedures and standards to include HACCP, BRC Standards, SOP’s and GMP’s.
  • Facilitate sanitation and HACCP meetings.
  • Communicate findings to senior site management.

  • Must be willing to be back to floor technician or samplers as needed.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Education And/or Experience
  • Quality experience desired.
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • Strong organization skills utilizing sound principles in leadership.
  • Proven ability to train and motivate personnel.
  • Must have a solid attendance record.
Communication Skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Bilingual preferred.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, written, and/or verbal form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to mine, analyze, prepare, and present food safety data.
  • Be able to demonstrate proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and prestige.
Physical Demands
  • Move about the facility.
  • Sit; use hands to finger; handle, or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak; hear taste and smell.
