OverviewThe Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience, Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a project funded by NIH.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead projects independently within the lab focused on the molecular and cellular basis of refractory asthma.
- Study airway hyperresponsiveness and airway inflammation and their relation to therapeutic resistance in asthma.
- Interact with and participate in other studies within a multidisciplinary group in the lab and the department.
- Contribute to training of laboratory staff and graduate students in research techniques and assist in writing grant proposals.
- Work in a full-time, grant-funded role.
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
- One year of related experience.
- Significant research accomplishments and scholarly promise, with prior experience in airway smooth muscle cells and mouse models of asthma considered advantageous.
An ideal candidate will be broadly interested in the molecular and cellular basis of refractory asthma, be capable of developing the project independently, and collaborate with the department’s multidisciplinary team.
