The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a critical role in ensuring the Alterations department delivers superior customer service. The CSR welcomes and services customers, makes appointments, answers phones, presses garments, and ensures items are ready for pickup, reporting to the Store Manager.

Essential Job Functions
  • Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chat, and in person.
  • Use all systems to manage the customer flow and deliver a five‑star experience.
  • Meet all service vows, including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs, and Be There for all customers.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time and contribute to store achievement of Five‑Star Customer Service.
  • Proactively address customer concerns with confidence and know when to Escalate and partner with the leadership team.
  • Effectively communicate how alterations can enhance a dress, partnering with Alterations.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store‑standards (clean, organized, promotional readiness, store recovery).
  • Maintain high dress code standards as required by the Dress Code policy.
  • Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from the alterations room for appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
  • Follow quality control guidelines and inspect all garments before final delivery to the customer.
  • Build long‑term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick‑ups, and quality standards for merchandise.
  • Support all cash wrap behaviors and process transactions with accuracy, celebrating every customer.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager to resolve customer issues that cannot be resolved independently.
  • Maintain a clean and well‑organized alterations room.
  • Perform duties and tasks assigned by store management.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for POS usage, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers, and making telephone calls.
  • Ability to see up close and at a distance; use peripheral vision; read and use a computer or phone for long periods.
Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with a computerized POS (Point of Sale) system.
