Inside Sales Account Manager

The Inside Account Manager is responsible for generating revenue and gross margin for the company by developing and maintaining a strong customer base. This position utilizes relationship-based selling techniques to meet the steel needs of each customer, while maximizing the profitability of the company. Other sales aspects include pricing and negotiation. The Inside Account Manager’s responsibilities extend beyond sales and also include heavy amounts of order entry, order tracking, and problem resolution.

The most successful Inside Account Managers take full ownership of their customers and orders and go the extra mile to ensure their customers are not just satisfied, but also informed throughout the entire sales process.

• Build customer relationships with new and existing accounts to maximize territory growth
• Understand each customer’s needs, and accurately fulfill expectations for quality, delivery, paperwork, communication, etc.
• Exhibit mentality of problem-solving that helps uncover solutions to customer needs
• Price inquiries in a manner which maximizes revenues , with consideration to minimizing operational costs
• Understand return on invested capital (ROIC), and exhibit decision making abilities which align with the goals of the company
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the steel products and services offered by State Steel
• Engage Outside Account Managers and sales management on significant inquiries to help maximize the probability of success
