Overview
Construction – Billboard Installer at Lamar Advertising Company in Omaha, Nebraska. Install and maintain billboards, including the installation of advertisements, structure upkeep, and billboard cosmetics. Most often part of an installation crew.
Responsibilities- Installing and maintaining all billboards.
- Remove and hang flexes, remove and hang vinyls, cut and prepare flexes and vinyls for installation, cut, prepare and install copy on Tri-Visions.
- Maintain structures – repairs include tightening bolts, painting steel structures, repairing trim, changing light bulbs, painting structures, assembling structures and faces when required.
- Build and install extensions, cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs, minor electrical repairs, and sweep/clean workshop area.
- Use power/manual tools, adhere to safety regulations.
- Attend safety meetings as required.
- Maintain operation vehicles, tools, equipment and machinery.
- Take completion photos for proof of performance.
- Good communication skills; ability to speak and read English fluently.
- Must be willing to work and get along well with others.
- Basic computer skills (Internet navigation, Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Ability to comply with safety standards.
- Ability to work with ladders and carry ladder/tools to work site.
- Working knowledge of electrical skills and techniques.
- Working knowledge of fabrication skills and techniques.
- Skill in reading technical documents, blueprints and diagrams.
- General knowledge of safety regulations (DOT, OSHA).
- Ability to safely use construction equipment.
- Ability to climb heights and work at heights above ground safely.
- Ability to document installations via photographs and written logs.
- Skill in practical applications of mathematics for construction tasks.
- Skill in setting priorities that reflect job responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Valid driver's license (required).
- Ability to complete OSHA 10‑hour Construction course (required).
- Preferred certifications (depending on location): CDL, non‑CDL, crane, signal, rigging, LDD.
- Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:00pm work schedule.
- Hourly rate of $19/hour (dependent on experience and qualifications).

- Limited sitting (less than 50% of time).
- Night shifts and on-call shifts may be required (< 10% of time).
