Aircraft Maintenance Technician – A&P Mechanic

DescriptionAmeriflight operates more than 150 dedicated cargo aircraft across the United States, including Saab 340B, Embraer 120, Fairchild SA227, Beechcraft 1900, and Beech 99 bases. Mechanics work on aircraft from nose to tail, gaining unique expertise in maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of airframe and power plant systems.
Basic Duties- Perform all maintenance on company aircraft per policy, manufacturer recommendations, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe and power plant components and systems.
- Document work completed per company procedures and FAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Travel for training, field repairs, and temporary support for other bases as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Preferred experience with Beechcraft 99, B1900, Embraer EMB-120, Fairchild SA227, Saab 340B.
- Preferred experience with GE T700/CT7, PT6A, PW118, and TPE
331 series powerplants. - Experience in a fast‑paced, scheduled maintenance operation.
- Valid FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
- Ability to interpret policy, repair, and safety manuals.
- Meet airport badging requirements, including TSA security background check.
- Successful completion of DOT drug screening and other required background checks.
- Valid driver’s license and meet company insurance criteria.
- Ability to work various shifts.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, using hands to manipulate objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Work outdoors in weather as necessary.
- Work near moving aircraft and machinery.
- Work in a potentially noisy environment.
