Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Details Job Location: Omaha - OMAHA, NE 68127 Position Type: Full Time Travel Percentage: Negligible
The Heavy Equipment Service Technician will work with service management and primarily be responsible for providing timely and accurate repairs on all brands of heavy machinery. This will include troubleshooting, machine evaluation, repair, testing, and documentation.

- Complete repairs on machinery in service shop
- Reference and interpret service, parts, and diagnostic software to determine problems/malfunctions and to verify repair specifications and parts needed
- Meet time requirement guidelines
- Maintain efficiency levels of at least 80% billable time
- Escalate unresolved issues to Technical Communicators for further research and assistance
- Accomplish repair by following parts ordering process, completing service reports, and giving appropriate verbal or written communications
- Model safe work habits and always abide by all safety policies and procedures
- Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor with customers, managers, and colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude
- Detail oriented
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Must provide your own hand tools required to perform work efficiently
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to carry, push, and lift up to 60lbs
- Ability to climb and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt)
- Travel as assigned for training or to perform work at other locations, overnight stays when required
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of 2 years of successful hands‑on experience or equivalent combination of technical training and in‑shop experience in Heavy Equipment repair, Komatsu and/or Takeuchi experience preferred
