Job Description
Salary: $30.46+

Wage: $30.46 - $33.23 + 4% night premium, if applicable
Schedule:
Must be able to work all shifts: mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.

Mechanic Qualifications- 2+ years of professional Heavy Duty Mechanic, Bus Mechanic, or Diesel Technician experience.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record to meet insurance standards.
- Possess or have the ability to complete company provided Class B CDL training in 90 days. Must maintain Class B CDL at all times of employment.
- Must pass Department of Transportation back screen, drug screen, and complete a background check.
- Must possess stable and verifiable work history, with exceptional record of attendance and punctuality.
- Possess knowledge of fleet maintenance procedures.
- Possess basic computer skills necessary including use of Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Possess necessary tools and ability to use a variety of shop tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and possess strong attention to detail.
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for long periods of time on concrete surfaces.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Utilize heavy duty mechanic knowledge, skills, and ability to maintain transit bus fleet.
- Perform vehicle inspections, overhauls, major and minor repairs, as well as monitoring/completing on-going regular scheduled maintenance.
- Ensure fleet vehicles are in safe, working order when placed in service, and free of mechanical defects.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot all major component groups, including air-conditioning systems.
- Respond to road-calls and troubleshoot in the field.
- Proficient use of diagnostic equipment.
- Utilize proficient and effective time management skills in performing assigned tasks.
- Perform metal and fiberglass fabrication.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment and clean work area.
- Regular and predictable attendance according to the positions approved work schedule.
- Other related duties as assigned.
