Traveling Industrial Maintenance Technician, Food Manufacturing

Position Summary

In this capacity, you serve as a vital technician responsible for maintaining operational flow. Your primary focus will be on resolving mechanical and electrical malfunctions, executing routine preventive care, and addressing equipment failures to ensure production remains efficient and safe.

Core Responsibilities

• Support production and safety objectives by maintaining and diagnosing equipment in food and dairy processing plants.
• Execute repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team.
• Resolve technical issues involving high-pressure boilers, vacuum pumps, and glycol-based cooling systems.
• Utilize electrical schematics and P& to guide your technical work.
• Ensure system reliability by diagnosing and fixing problems within 24
  
  VDC control circuits and analog/digital instrumentation.
• Leverage your understanding of PLC control logic to assist in identifying and resolving system faults.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of direct experience within the food manufacturing industry is mandatory.
• Previous work within the dairy sector is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated versatility as a maintenance technician with strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining pumps and motors up to 480V.
• Proven capability in the maintenance and repair of vacuum pump systems.
• Technical background involving refrigeration systems using glycol and high-pressure boiler operations.
• Proficiency in interpreting P&.
• Competence in utilizing test equipment, reading electrical diagrams, and working with 24
  
  VDC control circuits.
• Ability to interpret PLC control logic to help minimize downtime for the production team.
• Possession of a current, valid driver’s license.
• Full availability for 100% travel requirements.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience maintaining systems related to wastewater treatment.
• Foundational understanding of PC-based machinery.
• Capability to execute tasks autonomously with limited oversight.
• Effective communication abilities via radio, written, and verbal channels.
• Strong attention to detail to help ensure high-quality output in fast-paced environments.
