Engineering Manager- Ceph & Distributed Storage

We are hiring an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage to help teams store data safely, cheaply, and simply. The goal is to make Ceph easy to install, manage, and use from large enterprise data centers to half‑rack edge sites. We need a technically strong leader who can run an effective team, develop the colleagues, and drive delivery.

• Lead a team building a Ceph‑focused software‑defined storage solution
• Build and manage a globally distributed team of engineers
• Coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback to grow the team
• Contribute to engineering goals with sound principles and direct effort
• Set realistic schedules based on estimates and continuous feedback
• Manage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders
• Advance modern, agile software development practices
• Maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence
• Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values
• Participate as part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders
• Work from home with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events

• Software engineering background, preferably with Python and C++ experience
• Experience operating scale‑out storage clusters on Linux in production, preferably with Ceph
• Passion for emerging technologies and pushing boundaries
• Track record of developing and growing people
• Interest in building products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure everywhere
• Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for software development
• Experience leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers in an agile environment
