Driver - Non CDL (Transportation) Position Summary

Operates a straight truck delivering lumber products and picks up credits from and to project areas. Driving to urban/rural residential and commercial locations.

• Operates straight trucks with two or more axles.
• Demonstrates safe driving skills by safely delivering various bulky and/or heavy lumber products in a timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations and damage-free.
• Adheres to assigned deliveries and checks load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintains driver forms and log (ELD) according to DOT regulations.
• Maintains high activity/productivity levels while operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and determination.
• Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods.
• Addresses and resolves customer issues as appropriate and informs dispatch of any outstanding issues related to the customer deliveries.
• Checks vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicle.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1-year driving and delivery experience.
• Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) experience is a plus.

• Must have current DOT certification and valid, unrestricted driver's license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Work morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtime.
• Maintain regular attendance.

• Verbal & written communication skills and map/GPS reading abilities.
• Maneuver large vehicles on highways, inter-city and traffic routes.
• Ability to comply with daily changes to deliveries/schedules with a positive attitude.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet delivery goals.
• Willingness to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education.

• Work is performed within jobsite and yard environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
• Perform activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, stand/walk for prolonged periods.
• Reach at or above shoulder level and below waist and have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
