Millwork Warehouse Loading Dock Associate (Administrative)
Position Summary:
Loads, unloads, distributes and stocks building material and products within the Millwork loading and receiving dock areas and warehouse, ensuring accuracy and efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Moving building materials to and from storage or production areas to load docks and/or delivery trucks. Utilizes a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually moves or loads/unloads building materials.
- Reads work orders and/or follows oral instructions to determine materials to be moved or loaded/unloaded.
- Timely and accurate loading and unloading of trucks per work order and/or delivery schedules.
- Takes product onto loading dock and ensure that all product is accurately staged and sorted.
- Secures building materials inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. straps, dolly).
- Assemble customer orders from stock and using the RF scanner and package in a neat orderly fashion.
- Write up and receive credit returns on a daily basis giving accurate quantity and product information and making sure product is in re-sellable condition.
- Participate with cycle counting of physical inventory in the warehouse.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
- Hand stacks product when off balance or in the wrong order according to the journey (deliveries).
- Ensures that method of loading prohibits damage in transit.
- Assists in receiving process by checking merchandise, unloading trucks, matching received goods versus the work orders and distributing to storage locations.
- Verifies and completes required documentation and reports that include attaching identifying barcode labels using the appropriate method.
- Pack and unpack product to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouse or storage yards.
- Maintain the integrity of products through proper handling and storage.
- Scanning product to ensure proper inventory, checking paperwork to match product.
- Examine and inspect stock products for defects or damages to supervisor.
- Ensures warehouse is organized at all times and is accessible and safe for others to access.
- Clean, maintain and operate tools, equipment, supplies and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience with dock/warehouse environment with building materials loading and unloading. Previous experience with operating powered industrial trucks (Forklift, pallet jacks etc.) and handheld scanners.
Other RequirementsMust pass pre-employment drug screen and physical. Work morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtime. Maintenance of regular attendance.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of company products sufficient to look up/reference parts, products or components.
- Knowledge of basic math and measuring skills.
- Excellent verbal & written communication along with basic data entry/keyboard skills.
- Ability to concentrate and handle volume of details amidst busy work environment.
- Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet production goals.
- Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education.
Physical Requirements
Work is in a warehouse environment setting, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer/scan work. Must be able to safely squat/bend/climb. Will occasionally lift/carry up to 80 lbs. Push/pull, grasp, and talk, hear and stand/walk for prolonged periods. Job may require reaching at or above shoulder/overhead level and below waist.
