Base pay range

$22.51/hr - $33.77/hr

Kwik Trip’s Petroleum Department is seeking a Fuel Tax Coordinator who will be responsible for providing assistance to the Petroleum Accounting team with tax compliance and reporting related to the purchase and sale of petroleum, alternative, and renewable fuel products for retail locations and outside customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and file fuel tax returns for multiple jurisdictions accurately and on time
  • Reconcile fuel tax accounts and research discrepancies
  • Maintain and update tax rates and exemption information in accounting systems
  • Review bills of lading and invoices to ensure proper tax application
  • Work with procurement, vendors, and internal teams to resolve tax-related issues
  • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as requested
  • Monitor changes in fuel tax laws and regulations and implement necessary updates
  • Support Petroleum Accounting with tax-related projects and supplier invoices
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and tax compliance requirements
  • Experience with fuel tax reporting and multi-state tax regulations is preferred
  • General knowledge of petroleum industry is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Skilled in various computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of responsibilities
  • Ability to research and then implement all accounting related changes as it relates to and impacts Kwik Trip
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department co-workers, managers, directors, and external vendors
Work Schedule:

Generally, Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
