Location: UAB St. Vincents Blount
Schedule: 6AM – 6PM or 6PM – 6AM (Shift)
Department: Med Surg

Responsibilities- Assist patients with ambulation as necessary. This may include helping them to a recliner in their room, walk to the bathroom or down the hall. Assist dismissed patients in getting safely to their vehicles.
- Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff and document necessary records.
- Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
- Perform certain technical patient care duties in the hospital as directed by the staff nurse such as oxygen setup, foley catheter care, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection and EKGs.
- Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
EducationHigh School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
