PCT - Patient Care Technician - PRN - Rotating
Company: St. Vincent’s Health System
Location: UAB St. Vincent’s, Blount, Alabama
Department: Med Surg
Schedule: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM shifts (Rotating)
Employment type: PRN (Rotating)
Responsibilities- Perform basic clinical and non‑clinical patient care activities under supervision.
- Assist patients with ambulation and use of a recliner, bathrooms, or hallways; safely transport patients to vehicles.
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
- Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff; document necessary records.
- Keep patient rooms clean and orderly; maintain medical equipment.
- Perform technical patient‑care duties such as oxygen setup, foley catheter care, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection, and EKGs as directed by staff nurses.
- Obtain and record vitals, weight, and input/output.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross acceptable).
- High school diploma or equivalency, or 1 year of relevant cumulative job‑specific experience.
