This role is not remote and requires in-person work. You will start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transition to full-time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
- Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives across three offices.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist the DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns in collaboration with the Associate Relations Center.
- Foster an engaging team environment across all offices through training, coaching, and recognition of outstanding contributions.
- Lead scheduling and timekeeping to ensure accurate labor management for associates in all offices; travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- People management experience with a track record of growing and developing associates.
- Ability to execute growth plans and cultivate a growth-oriented culture.
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
