Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will partner with multiple clients by:
- Managing day-to-day accounting needs and monthly close processes for assigned clients.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Performing interim bank reconciliations, credit card entries, and processing online payments for client expenses.
- Assisting with transactions, follow-ups on outstanding checks, and AP/AR tasks.
- Retrieving bank statements, donor statements, and other client documents.
- Generating reports as requested by clients.
- Advising clients on grant spending, budget allocations, and expense coding; filing grant reports and preparing projections/modifications as needed.
- Responding promptly to client inquiries and requests.
- Cross-training on other accounts to ensure redundancy and coverage.
- Assisting with client onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition and clear communication regarding services.
- Supporting audits by gathering and providing necessary documentation, liaising with auditors, and ensuring client compliance.
- Reviewing draft audits, communicating findings, and assisting clients in implementing auditor recommendations.
- Supervising and mentoring accounting assistants, providing guidance as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
- High proficiency in Quick Books Online and Excel required.
- Intermediate skills in Word and Outlook; familiarity with Teams and Office tools preferred.
- Comfort managing multiple clients and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with online bill payment software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Professional demeanor, customer service skills, and effective communication across various channels (phone, email, text, in-person).
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in the evolving accounting field.
