As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a motivated Project Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for a detailed-oriented professional with a strong foundation in development or construction cost accounting who is committed to supporting the accounting team in managing project-related financial tasks, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate reporting to management.
Responsibilities- Assist in the day‑to‑day financial transactions and activities of multiple entities.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable process.
- Assist in the month‑end and year‑end closing process.
- Help prepare schedules for assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
- Set up and maintain chart of accounts, vendors, customers, and employees in the accounting system.
- Collect and review vendor and subcontractor information for compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Track vendor and subcontractor lien releases and maintain the NTO log.
- Assist in coordinating monthly lender funding packages according to bank lending agreements.
- Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Generate and distribute weekly receivables reports to upper management.
- Support in the preparation of financial statements and year‑end audits.
- Assist the CPA with yearly tax preparation.
- Contribute to budget‑to‑actual variance analysis and project reporting.
- Prepare ad‑hoc reports on projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- At least 1 year in accounting experience; exposure to development or construction accounting is a plus.
- Must be proficient in Excel; familiarity with accounting software packages such as SAGE, Quick Books, and others.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with guidance.
- Strong written / verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills; bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Must possess a professional attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (based on experience).
- Health Insurance – 100% coverage of the employee’s premium.
- 15 days of PTO – Option to work from home during the last week of December.
