Project Accountant

Bobbitt is seeking a Project Accountant to support the Controller and CFO with monthly, quarterly and annual close activities, project accounting, and financial reporting.

The Project Accountant ensures general‑ledger accuracy, prepares accurate GP reports, supports internal and external financial reporting, aids audit preparations, and participates in special projects to improve internal processes.

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Prepare monthly Gross Profit (GP) reporting.
• Perform accurate and timely month, quarter and year‑end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations for multiple balance sheets related to projects.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting.
• Support external review and valuation requirements, including preparation of audit schedules.
• Manage cost transfers, reconciliations and revenue accounting for projects.
• Lead special projects to automate, streamline and improve internal processes and practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO.

• Valid driver's license.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent computer skills with intermediate-level Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
• Strong skills working with expenses, accounting and reconciling accounts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi‑task and adapt to a flexible, fast‑paced and dynamic work environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Construction industry experience.
• CPA or CPA candidate status.
• 3‑5 years of general‑ledger accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of Sage, Procore, Quick Base.
• Advanced Excel skills.

This position requires team collaboration and in‑person meetings; a traditional work schedule is preferred with occasional remote work.

• Occasional travel (10‑15%) to meetings and events within a 100‑mile radius of the office.
• Occasional travel to job sites for photography or milestone events.

• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
• Good vision, naturally or with correction.
