AP Manager needed in FTL area. Offers 1 day remote work.
Responsibilities- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience (experience with a multi-site operator is a plus). Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Experience managing a team of 2 to 3 AP Specialists
- Experience processing invoices and completing payment runs
- Strong understanding of 3-way match and Purchase Orders
- Able to review expense reports, assist employees and properly assign GL accounts to expenditures
- Manage monthly closing of AP, reconcile statements, and assist with the annual audit.
- Participate in the month end close process including analyzing the monthly income statement for transactions booked in the right period.
- Oversee internal reimbursement of credit cards
- Responsible for preparing and issuing 1099’s, along with improving the process.
- Research, resolve and communicate any discrepancies or outstanding balances on vendor accounts.
- Jointly develop and initiate with the team and other departments cross functional process improvements
- Help implement and maintain systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Knowledge of debits and credits
- Strong MS Excel skills including vlookups, tables and pivot charts, and ability to analyze data.
- Handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
- Work with vendors/employees at all levels promptly and professionally, and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Able to problem-solve, perform research, create reports, and take on ad-hoc requests
